If I set a custom date fromat of:

    l, jS F Y @ H:i

The date displayed should be “Monday, 19th August 2013 @ 10:50” like I get on my posts. However on the events I get:

    “Saturday, 24th August 2013 @ 08:00 @ Saturday, 24th August 2013 @ 08:00 – Saturday, 24th August 2013 @ 17:00”

This is obviously incorrect but I am ansure why the first date is repeated…

  • Hi MrHinsh.

Just to confirm, are you setting this in the main WordPress settings screen? It’s quite possible you’ve hit on a bug, but I just want to make sure I’m understanding the scenario correctly.

    Thanks!

Yes in the main WordPress settings.

OK – so it sounds like you are adding time formatting symbols to the date format. Ideally the date format would concern itself only with the date and you’d apply any special time formatting via the custom time formatting option … is that possible here?

It is 🙂 I have no issue with that and in fact I just switched it back to one of the defaults. Weird issue though…

Basically if you include the time in the date format (rather than having it in the time format field only) the time will then be appended a second time – it’s actually behaving as expected, by the sounds of it.
