  • Hi there,

I’m using Simplicity and would like to make the tagline appears as a blockqoute. I’m a complete newbie, so easy on the explanation, please!

  • Gart,

Can you please clarify what you want to do?

The blockquote HTML tag is used to indent text in a paragraph. I don’t understand what this has to do with your site’s tagline.

    Hi DaisyMariposa,

I want to use a quote as a my tagline, say, for instance:
“Do not ask what your country can do for you,…etc.”
In the Simplicity Theme the tagline appears below the Header as a continuous, single line, as above. What I want is to edit it, so that I can center it, change the font, etc. Say,

    “Do not ask
    what your country
    can do for you…”

    Gart,

To do what you want directly in the HTML code

    <blockquote>"Do not ask<br /> what your country<br /> can do for you..."</blockquote>

will indent the tagline so that it will look like what you typed in your message.

    DaisyMariposa,

This is embarrassing, but where do I find the file to write the HTML code you suggest? I tried directly on the tagline in Settings->General->Tagline but it doesn’t work.

I’ve tried editing it via View Source but it didn’t work. I also tried editing Inspect Element and it didn’t work either. I apologise for my ignorance, this is my first attempt at working with WordPress, so any help will be very welcome.

    Hi,

Is there anybody out there who has a clue as to how I can solve this?
