• I have 2 themes that I would like to use on my website for specific pages. What I want to have is my old site in a folder lets call this TTTS1 and then my new site as the main page.

If you click on TTTS1 on the site, it takes you to the old site with all the pages, and blogs there and the old theme.

If you visit the main homepage, then you have the new theme and everything there.

I have read about Page Templates but that isn’t what I want. I also don’t want to create two Databases for this as I don’t have access to that at all. Installing two WordPress sites isn’t what I want either, just too many of the same files used for both.

  • From my own knowledge, someone might disagree I think you can have one template selected as default at any one time.
If you want to have two like that, it would make sense to create custom templates.
Even though I understand two tits are better than one 😐

How would I create custom templates to display the current and the second theme I would want?

Create Custom Templates are you talking about Page Templates? Unless I can use a different theme in pages it will not work. I have read everything on Page Templates, and nothing I see will work with my ideas.

There is one possible route I think – having thought about.

You could use Theme Switcher plugin to switch page template dependent upon the page you are on. Search for Theme Switcher plugin.

I am not sure Theme Switcher Plugin is what I want. This only allows a user or a person who comes by my site to switch between themes. I don’t want this, I want only certain pages to have a certain theme.

There should be a way to have one Theme only for certain pages or part of the site. I know that tons of people would like this feature.

Maybe having a subfolder would do the trick, but should be part of WordPress.

Have to disagree with you there!
Use custom pages and have fun – its a lot more messy.
