• I’m migrating a single site to multisite: http://www.FOOBAR.com is being split into http://www.FOOBAR.com and members.FOOBAR.com.

I needed to move the users from http://www.FOOBAR.com to members.FOOBAR.com.

I used export and import plugins from the same developer.

When I view users in the original site — http://www.FOOBAR.com — it’s all good. It shows the totla number of users in each category, and displays the lists in the standard table layout.

But when I view users in the new site — members.FOOBAR.com — it shows the correct total of users, but no roles and no detailed list. There’s just an empty table.

    What am I missing?

Are you using Multisite for this? There is no ‘moving’ of users, you just add them to the new site. Then you activate the plugins on the new site.

I have experienced this as well. I go to Users for a site (in the site dashboard or more often in the Network->Sites->Edit->Users TAB) and see the correct NUMBER of users but no actual list.

I’ve seen it on multiple multisite installs that had very little in common.

There is a degree of caching that goes on with the users, but it shouldn’t cause that.

Learned a little more about the issue today. In the database, the users had no role defined for the given site. In my case this occurred when I used some import plugin which brought users from another install and was supposed to assign them either the same roles or the default role (can’t remember). Anyway, it associated them with the site but gave them no role.

We were able to run a script that set all the user’s roles to subscriber and then they appeared in the list as they were supposed to.

That would make sense… The importer probably wasn’t Multisite Aware.
