Blog exists about 5 years, always same username and password.
Since two days, I always get the message "username error". I am very sure I use the exact username, so no doubt about that.
What's happening ? Blog is integrated in my website, and due to the Holidays, webmaster is not responding. As I can not login, I also can not change username or password. Would be very grateful for a suggestion about how to solve this problem !

Thank you for the help, but I can not reach the admin. section, as I can not login, "ERROR INVALID USERNAME". The password is, as far as I can see now, accepted, because there is nothing said about "Invalid password". I searched all the fora this afternoon, no solution. If you want to change your password, you have to fill out your username or mailaddress, and password. Both username and mailaddress are being refused. ??? It's very weird. So no Xmaswishes for my customers this year ...

    You might try these then:

Or perhaps changing your username and password via one of the methods in the earlier page would get past whatever is causing the current problems.

    Yes, I did.
I already accessed the phpMyAdm, but to me it seems very complicated, and I'm too scared to change the settings.
As the blog is part of my website, if I mess up, maybe the website will be damaged, and than, we are into bigger problems ...
Have to confess that I'm a nitwit in these matters, I can write and publish, but all the rest is Chinese to me ... that's why it's handy to have a webmaster and if he would be around ...

if you have access to phpMyadmin, go to the wp_users table and have a look at what's in there. Your username and email should be in there. Perhaps there's an error or someone changed it.

Just click on yours and make sure that the email is the right one. Once you've updated the email (assuming it was changed) you can then use the reset password tool.
