    Hi all.

    I can not figure this out. At the top of a post you see this:

    Posted on May 10 2011 by Nickname

    Then, when I rollover and click on my Nickname, you can view: http://www.someexamplessite.com/author/Nickname which is the blog archive.

    Some of my blogs make the Nickname an active link and and others don't. It does not seem to be theme based and I cannot remember what I have done differently. It is only on my recent blogs installed in the last few weeks.

    Is there a simple setting somewhere, that prevents users from clicking the post author nickname and viewing the blog archive???

    Thanks.

    This is theme based. You would need to edit your theme's temple file and replace <?php the_author_posts_link(); ?> with <?php the_author(); ?>.

    Hey thanks for that.

    Problem is, that I am using the same theme on two blogs and:

    The one I started six months ago, does not generate an active link;

    The one I started yesterday, with the same theme, is generating an active link.

    Could it be the most recent release of wordpress that has caused the difference?

    No - nothing was changed in relation to author template tags.
