username and password/wp-config.php file/reinstall issue
-
I am in the process of changing servers.
I goofed.
I decided, too quickly, to use the easy installation wordpress button on the new server’s Cpanel. It asked for the Url of the blog. Installation was successful except that it issued me a new Admin and wordpress login – oops!
Now, the server cannot find the database.
I think this is because the username and password information in my wp-config.php file is different than the new one issued by the new installation, so the database and WP cant communicate…
So, I deleted the new WP install on the new server.
And, now the transfer is complete from my old server, and I need to know how to get out of this mess. I think it has to do with the WP side, and needing to get my old admin login to come back there that matches with my wp-config.php file or ?

The actual error is “cannot connect to database” – and its a login issue.
Thanks – see if I hit the easy button again !
