How can I login into the dashboard (wp-admin) with a user (that doen’t have the admin role?

When I enter the username & password, it redirects me instantly to the “home-page” of my website.

Do I have to activate the dashboard somewhere or something like this?

In my user-settings I checked both check-boxes about the admin-area.
(show adminbar if site is visited / in dashboard)

    Thans for your answers!

  • There’s nothing to activate. Everyone logs in in via the same url (/wp-admin or /wp-login.php) whether they’re an admin or not. If you’re having logon problems, then the issue is elsewhere. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Thanks for your help Esmi!

After deactivating all my plugins it all worked fine again!!
After reactivating them one by one, I could find the plugin which was interrupting my login in the wp-admin area! (Under construction page – plugin)

    Now it’s all clear!!

    Greets,
    Rob.
