[resolved] User with Editor status able to approve comments : is it normal ?!? (3 posts)

Hello, it's been a while I could come here, I hope the usual old helpers are doing well :)

I noticed something, I don't know if I should consider this normal or abnormal, could I ask other people their opinion, if it is the same on their side or not, please ?

On one of my blogs, I have a helper with the Editor status. And he told that when he would click to edit a blog post, written by me or edited by him it's the same, he was showed the recent comments at the bottom of the editing page...
(so far so good, all's normal)
... and he also had the power to approve the comments that were listed with the "pending" status (with a pale yellow background). He could also disapprove them.

Approving or disapproving comments, in my mind, can ONLY be something relevant to the admin of a blog and the creator of the blog note in which there has been a comment.
And because of that, I wonder if this isn't a bug, that a "mere" editor has this approving/disapproving power.

Thanks if you could tell me if that isn't normal, or if this is the norm ? :)

    Greetings,
    Sabinou

    'ello there. :-)

    Have a look at http://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities#Editor

moderate_comments is clearly listed for the Editor role, so this is by design (ie the norm).

Ah, the good old codex. I really suck at finding info, I'm afraid.

Thank you Esmi, I'm reassured :)
