User permission problem. Unable to upload image, only admin can.

    Hi All,

    I am running this website which is using wordpress 3.4.2.

    There seems to have User permission problem.

    This problem happens when adding image in the post.

    When I logged in as an Editor, I click on “Add new” post and then when the add new page loads, there is no visual options (Font, Color, styling, bullets ,etc), I have also checked the user profile setting and the i have uncheck the ” Disable the visual editor when writing”.

    Also when I click on the “upload/insert”, nothing pops up. So basically I can only add plain text and html tags. but our editor has no idea of HTML tags, he is just a normal user.

    But if I log in as “admin” everything works fine.

    Why is this happening? I dont want to assign many administrator for this website.

    I have also installed “user role management” plugins but it doesnt help.

    Need your help urgently. My client is going mad…. 🙁

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Okay. I will give it a try.

    Should I backup my files before I do any of these option which you have suggested?

    I have few questions,

    1. what you mean by “Switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    3. If I download the fresh wordpress file and do as you told, would this effect the website design and layout?

    1. Activate the original Twenty Eleven theme and see if that helps.

    2. No.
