• The person who set up workpress has left the country. We have no idea what it is. wp-admin is asking for user name & password.

Is there somewhere in the code where we can find the username & pasword?

  • If you have phpmyadmin (how to find that could be here: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/backup/) then you can follow this page to resolve your problems: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/phpmyadmin/

I have also lost my username and need support. My blog is getting spam and I recieve emails asking me to moderate it. I’ve tried to log on but it keeps rejecting my username. (?)

I have had to re-register to post here seeking support. I was unable to find any support interface were I could simply send an email query. Can anyone offer advice?

As is, my blog is going to permanently be a GREAT place to spam.

The option in the first post is your best bet. The tutorial at http://tamba2.org.uk on resetting your password through the database/phpmyadmin interface is truthfully your best (if not only) option.

I too am having this problem.

First I tried to install wordpress following the manual instructions. Everything went well, except nothing happened when I tried to run the script.

So I asked the help desk at AN (I use AN hosting). They pointed me to a macro under their “Fantastico” page which indeed autoinstalled everything, and now I get my default blog page. However, neither the username nor password allows me to enter the wp_admin. I even have an email indicating what my name and password are (actually, they are the same as my AN name and password) but they are not recognized by wordpress.

Anyone have a hint, other than resetting it as was mentioned above?

    Thanks,

    Tim

Never mind. The tabma2 instructions for resetting the password worked like a charm.

Fellow sufferers: it’s not hard to do. Courage!
