    Hi folks

    I am running a wordpress 3.0.1 multisite installation as a CMS for multiple websites. Each page is administered by one user with "editor" rights.

    I would like to give them access to change custom menus but this feature is only available to admins.

    Do you know a plugin which is able to add a new GLOBAL role to my network which i can assign to new users and where I can customize stuff which is available to this role?

    I tried different plugins but I always had to enter access levels on every blog which is way too time consuming...

    cheers,
    dan

    There is no plugin to manage userlevels globally.

    As with reference to 'movingwithshadow's' question, I would like to ask another question.

    I am starting a blog network, in which users can register an account, and create blogs. It is not "multiple authors for ONE blog" .It is "individual/multiple authors for individual blogs".

    My question is ... I would like to enable users to chose their own theme and plugins. I need a certain plugin, for example 'status' plugin to be activated by default in all blogs, and I don't want the users to deactivate it.

    Is this possible.?

    Also, Suppose that I have installed a certain number of themes, and I don't want users to upload their own theme, instead can use the themes I upload. Does this work?

    Yes.

    Is this answer for my first question or about the second one about themes?

    @andrea: thanks for your answers.

    @roshan:
    It's no problem to enable users to chose their own themes (the ones you upload). you can activate themes on a blog basis:

    blog a -> theme 1,2,3
    blog b -> theme 2,4,6... etc.

    and you can activate plugins "network wide" -> plugin x is available on every blog in your network - just make sure that the plugins you are using are multisite compatible. you, as the super admin, can even activate a plugin for one specific blog and you can prevent normal users from deleting/deactivating plugins - they don't even see the plugins-page.

    hope this helps.

    cheers, dan
