Hi, I'm doing the Google Code-In and as a task for LimeSurvey I had to create a user feedback survey for an open source project using LimeSurvey. I chose to create a user feedback survey for WordPress.org. As the second part of my task, I need to publicize the survey and get people to take it. If you can please take 5 minutes to take my survey, and help me complete my task for the Google Code In, that would be great! Click here to access the survey. Thanks!

I started the survey, but exited halfway through. Some feedback: Say up front how many questions there are/how long it will take. The 0 - 100% meter at the top doesn't do much for setting expectations.

When you use a Likert scale (the 1-5 rating), make sure you indicate which number means the most. Some scales have 5 as the highest, while others have 1.

If a question is mandatory, mark it as such. I checked "Other" but didn't fill in a response after it, and I got an error message because of it and had to scroll back to find it.

After filling in all the multiple choice questions, I came to a screen that was all free-form text entry, and the meter at the top of the screen made it look like I was just under halfway through. At that point I decided this survey was taking too much time and abandoned it.

    Thanks for your feedback!

I changed the welcome message to:

Welcome to my WordPress.org user feedback survey that I created for a task for Google Code-In. Please answer the following 30 questions to the best of your ability. This survey should take no more than 5 minutes of your time.

(I timed myself taking the survey and got that it took me 2 minutes)

For the Likert scale, I added the following help text below the question:

1 is I have no skill in this area and 5 is I'm a master in this area

The questions with "Other" weren't mandatory (none of the questions in the survey were mandatory), but for some reason they require you to fill in the text box if you choose "Other". I'm trying to figure out how to fix that right now.

As for the meter, I am pretty sure I have no way to control how it shows. What I've done is added a "Page x/5" under the heading of each page so the person filling out the survey has a more accurate understanding of where they are in the survey.
