Is there any simple way of validating emails or users? I had a rather strange experience with a user today and would like to know if there's any simple of authenticating email addresses.

Not really. You can check if an email LOOKS real, but you can't really check if me@example.com is really me or someone pretending to be me.
What kind of 'strange' was it?
