[resolved] User Capability - Edit custom taxonomy (4 posts)

    I am using several custom post types for my website and I wanted to ask if it is possible for me to set a user capability to edit specific taxonomies or is the capability "manage_categories" the only one we can use?

    For example I have a custom post type "News" which has a category like taxonomy called "type" I would like to set specific users the capability to edit just "types" but nothing more. Right now I can only give them the capability "manage_categories" which gives them access to all my custom post type taxonomies.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    This is marked resolved but no solution is given. I'm trying to solve the same issue.

    You can find the answer under the codex page for register_post_type. Under capabilities you can see how to add user capabilities for the custom post type.
