user accounts for comments and forum?

Hi All,
Perhaps I’m dreaming a bit here and asking for the impossible, but I was wondering if I could make my blog a community by:

– having user accounts. They can sign in to comment on blog posts and write messages on a forum. It can be like a XXX blog membership.

Is this possible and does anyone know how?? Of course if I can find a right programmer I will pay for your help..

I see a big pile of related questions — many with ideas or suggestions.

Another way to go about the search would be to search for the name of the forum you wish to integrate with.
