I'd like to allow someone to post to my blog. I'm not sure however how to classify them because I don't want them to have complete access (i.e. see private posts, make changes). Do I classify them as an 'author' or 'contributor'?

    See here:

And for a handy plugin to manage roles:

But I think you just want to grant the standard 'author' role.

I agree with geoffe. An 'author' status should do fine for what you're looking for.

Actually I decided to go with the 'contributor' role. I read what you sent and tested it out with a friend. the person would not be able to make changes or view private posts.

    thanks for all your assistance!
