Use WordPress as a CMS with blog, not the other way around (3 posts)

    Hello

Thank you for looking. I have tried to figure out, with no great success, how to make WordPress work like a CMS, with a blog as part of it and not as the main part. I.E. like WordPress's own website where there is a home button that has it's own page (I know how to do this), more content links in the main menu and, more importantly, have a link in the main menu that says "Blog" which takes you to, surprise, surprise, a blog that works just like normal. I'd also like to have a blog like overview page for latest news, also based on "post's", then all of the other pages including the homepage based on "Page's".

Is that clear as mud? Any ideas or tips?
