Use specific subdomain to display alternate content? (1 post)

I'm trying to achieve the following on a network install. Not sure if it's possible, so any help would be appreciated.

The network is set up using subdomains. On my main blog, I have a page that pulls in and displays information about the network's users like so:

    http://domain.com/catalog/username/

I'd like to rewrite this so that this page is accessible from:

    http://catalog.domain.com/username/

So far I haven't found a hook that lets me prevent redirection to wp-signup.php when visiting http://catalog.domain.com/. Is there a method of doing this via an action hook or filter? Or an .htaccess redirect? Thanks in advance.
