Use Menus to populate sidebar?

Is there a way to populate the content of a sidebar using WP menus? For instance, I’d love for my client to be able to;

1. Create a page
2. Add that page to a “Sidebar” dynamic menu
3. Have the page Title and Feature Image display within the sidebar (or wherever it’s called within the template

Think of it as a different way to do the List Pages Widget.
