Use in Multisite?

I have a global menu in which I am pulling in categories and taxonomy images from the main blog to be displayed in a megamenu on all the member blogs. It’s wrapped in switch_to_blog(1) and works great for all the elements I have populated it with so far.

I just added the taxonomy images plugin and it shows up fine when on the main blog, but not on any of the member blogs. Any ideas what I should change or try differently?
