Well...you *can* I guess, but I'm not sure why you would want to when there are so many better ways of doing things. Can you elaborate on what you're trying to accomplish and maybe I can help you figure out a better solution?

    Hi again,

    I have a live site(static) http://nouwenlegacy.com/

I'm asked to convert it to wordpress so that registered users can edit contents..

The menu there is an image..

When I look at the source of this site I see that each of the buttons is a single image, not one large continuous image (which is where you might need an image map). So it's just an image that is a link...which is easy to do and fine under most circumstances.

So YES you should be able to use the existing format of that site and integrate it with wordpress (if you know your way around wordpress themes). If you are satisfied with that answer, stop reading ;)

    BUT!

You may want to look into using image replacement (click the "Update" buttons to see it work)

aaaaaaaand happily there is a plugin to make this very easy to do in WordPress

    Happy Coding
