[resolved] use 1 WP installation as static pages + blog pages? (5 posts)

I have been asked to create a combination web site/blog using the Nanoplex theme, which contains a non-blog home page plus several other non-blog pages, and a blog page, along with the menu. None of the pages will allow comments. The owner wants to manage the site herself once it is up and running, and she is willing to read up on how to use WordPress.

I've never created a blog that had a static page as the home page and a blog page somewhere else. Is this possible? And is there some reading I can do no how to set this up?

    The theme is here:

    Thanks in Advance,

I may be over-complicating things, the owner doesn't want to allow comments on any page, so maybe I just need to make all of the pages, call one "Blog" where she can post long messages, and then show her how to find the link to the Blog page so she can embed it on her home page along with an excerpt from the most recent post, which I may even automate. I'm still interested in hearing any comments anyone is willing to make.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    kmessinger,

Thank you very much, that is exactly what I needed to see.

Is there any way I can contribute to your site rating? I don't see how to right now.

    Best Regards,
    Mike
