   Hi,

   I have switched the theme of my blog from Evolve (Themes4Press) to Simple Catch. Everything is great but the only issue is that the urls that are there in the posts are appearing as plain text in the excerpts, they are not targeting to any webpage.

   Please help me with a solution to this.

   Hi,

   After knowing the reason for blocking the html tags in the excerpts (<a> in the above scenario) to avoid open tags, I am now OK with the disabling of urls.

   What I was trying to say is that the excerpts generated for homepage is converting urls to plain text instead of being appearing as urls.

   A latest post on my blog http://www.phonestabs.com/2012/11/29/nokia-lumia-822-now-available-on-verizon-for-99-99/ has a link in the first paragraph of the post. The post is also appearing on the homepage as an excerpt and in that excerpt the link is appearing as plain text instead of a url. Visit the post and then visit the homepage to understand better.

   If you have a solution to this, please let me know.

   @bestofsumit: It's the WordPress function the_excerpt() which removes the links. So, maybe this plugin will help you http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/advanced-excerpt/

   @Sakin, Thank you for suggesting the plugin. I'll give it a try.

   Another thing I wanna ask. I want additional header and footer widgets. Is it possible via any plugin?
