I've moved my normal website to be a wordpress blog.
Originally, all the urls had the www. in front of them, so I build links to them.
Now, they don't. Everytime I try to change that, it doesn't work and won't let me log in anymore. I can login again, but that didn't solve my problem.
Question is, how can I change it to have the www again and does it matter for linkbuilding?
Thanks a lot.
Patrick
Go to Settings/General in your admin panel and add the www. to the two URLs listed there.

I did exactly that and I worked fine with a few of my other sites ... yet now, after doing this, nothing changed, and I couldn't log in after manually changing the MySQL database ... any idea why?
Did you make a typo when you manually changed it in the database? It happens more often than you'd think.

I know that it happens more often than you'd think, but no, I didn't. I only had to change it manually to get it back to the normal settings, otherwise it wouldn't let me log in anymore. So the problem must be somewhere else. Could it be that the wordpress theme messes things up?
That's possible. Does switching to the Twenty Ten theme resolve the issue?
