url link format

When one posts a link on facebook, fb produces a short sumary of the url including: title, some photo, and few lines of text. I’d like to know if there is a way to do teh same ina wordpress blog. In other words, a mechanism whereby wordpress produces the title, few lines of text and a photo from the included link.
