URGENT - Registration turned off, but wp-login still asks for it?! (2 posts)

    So here's the deal:

Somehow, some 6 months ago, I managed to make registration mandatory in order to view the "main" homepage:

if you visit the site, you get aksed to register/login and only then, when you input user/pass, can you enter the real site.

now, I need to turn that off, i.e. I'd like that when someone puts in the URL of the site, there is no wp-login window, that no login is needed, and you can just view the site.

now, I've tried turning off "Everyone can register" and "Users must be registered and logged in to comment" but that doesn't change anything, wp-login will now only miss the "REGISTER" link, but it would still popup when you visit the site

Please how do I work around this, I just need to make the site visible to everyone for about a week, and then revert back to this "secure" way.

    In hope you'll reply today/tomorrow,

    R.R.

You must have installed a plugin (or modification) that restricted the viewing of the blog to registered users--that's not something that WordPress does natively.

Try looking at your plugins to see which to deactivate.
