Hi. When referring to the way your site is working / behaving / looking, it’s always a good idea to post the URL so we can better get to grips with the problem.

Hi!
Is Background Manager also enabled for “Archive (Category, Tag, History) pages”?
As for the widgets disappearing, the Adventure Journal makes a distinction between “Page Widgets” and “Blog Widgets”, which might be the reason why.

Hi,
Your advice has sorted out my widgets but I’m afraid the background problem is not resolved as I had already enabled the “Archive (Category, Tag, History) pages”
Thanks so much for your help!

Hi!
I’ve double checked once again regarding the missing background – I missed a step trying to reproduce your problem – and can confirm this is due to a bug in Background Manager, which I’ll fix ASAP. Thanks for reporting it!

Hi Myatu,
I’m having problems with how the background manager works in Internet Explorer.
It’s not covering the full background as it’s supposed to.
It’s fine in other browsers.
Thanks

Hi, in which version of Internet Explorer does this occur? It has been tested down to version 7.0.

HELP!

@laragh: I’ve just visited the site and looked at the cause. This is due to the lack of support for background image scaling in MSIE, which has been resolved in MSIE 9.
What I would suggest, is to change the Background Layout setting in Background Manager from Normal to Full Screen.

Thanks Myatu,
I will try that. Can you suggest the size the image should be for Full Screen. I can’t find any info on this.
Thanks

The image size is automatically adjusted. However, if the image is much smaller than the visitor’s screen, then it may appear “blocky” or “smudged” because it tries to fill the whole browser window and needs to stretch it. But if it is very large image the other hand, it may take quite a while to load.
Although this depends for each individual website, using Google Analytics on my own site, the majority of visitors use a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Quite a few use smaller resolutions, and fewer still use a higher resolution. So this would be a good “middle ground”, also in terms of file-size (download time).
