Could you let us know what you mean by “Membership is not working”?
Are the rules not protecting your content? If that’s the case, could you please verify that you’re testing using a non-admin account, with an access level appropriate for the test you’re doing?
Also, does it not work at all right now, regardless of the NextGen plugin?

I apologize for the late reply. I have taken an alternate route for now. I am starting the site from scratch and I will see if Membership and NextGen will conflict again or not.
The plugin does work well without NextGen.
I will contact you again if any issue arises.
