[URGENT HELP] Tags

I have created a tag called ‘featured’ in a post! but when I click on the tag from single.php, the tag redirects me to http://example.com/tag/featured-2 however it should redirect me to http://example.com/tag/featured and when I manually browse for the link http://example.com/tag/featured it says no page found! Can anyone help me with this urgently please as my website is running and it looks awwful!
