URGENT help needed with re-installing WordPress… I DO have a backup.

    I have an URGENT problem!

    As you can see the complete menu-structure is gone… I also have NO access to my Dashboard, when I click my dashboard it says “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page”

    My installation folder seems ruined somehow, so I’m afraid I have to do a complete WordPress re-install.

    I have a backup of the following FTP folders (when everything was running correctly);
    – Database
    – Others
    – Plugins
    – Themes
    – Uploads
    ————

    Of course I want to do a fresh install, so I think it’s best to delete the current WordPress installation folders (incl database) from my FTP server.
    If I do a complete re-install of WordPress, and put it back to my original FTP folder… and putting back all 5 folders as previously mentioned above, would everything work correctly again?

    First, access your database via phpMyAdmin (most hosting providers offer this in their control panel), go to the wp_users table and find the row for your user_login . Note the ID of this row. Now, go to the wp_usermeta table and find the wp_capabilities row for your user_id . Set the value of this row to a:1:{s:13:"administrator";b:1;}

    Hopefully that works, if not, try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

    If neither of those worked, and you’re confident that your database backup is current, try restoring the database backup.
