`Hi, I am a webmaster for a model's wordpress blog and last week we changed from default linking to using permalinks, now the RSS feed is not working. http://www.saffrontaylor.com/blog/feed Until last week the RSS feed worked perfectly fine.

The blog is also set up with Feedburner and currently has around 1800 subscribers, now nobody is receiving any email updates, as the RSS is no longer working. Plus people can no longer subscribe via RSS. Wierdly the <a href="http://feeds2.feedburner.com/saffrontaylor">feedburner link here </a>is showing the xml file, which is definatly wrong. Also, Isn't <a href="http://www.saffrontaylor.com/blog/feed">this link </a>what the new permalink RSS feed should be? We used /%category%/%postname% as the permalink structure. Since we changed this, all RSS has messed up.

There is quite a lot of posts in the blog and we have spent a lot of work on the layout and pages over the last few weeks, so we really do not want to change back to default linking again.

Can someone please advise what we can do? We ran the feed via validator and it came back with <a href="http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.saffrontaylor.com%2Fblog%2Ffeed">this</a>

I would appreciate any help anyone can give.

    Many thanks

You have multiple lines at the top of your WordPress feed file and this is invalidating the feed. Try:
    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
