URGENT help - accidentally using someone elses URL (6 posts)

I tried to look at a totally unrelated site and was repeatedly asked for a username and password, which I foolishly supplied. I now seem to have accidentally set up a wordpress blog page on that URL. How, I don't know. I just want to remove the page and return the site to its former status/to its former owner, as soon as possible. And I am not a techy person - this was not some convoluted programming/coded thing - I typed in the unrelated site, typed in my name and bang, I suddenly had an unwanted blog page on someone else's site. WordPress 'cleverly' don't have a contact number so I have no idea what to do. Help?

THanks for commenting. So as not to compromise them further, can I ask if the URL is relevant. I don't want to fudge things up any more than I already have!

It would help us get a much clearer picture of the situation. Right now, it's hard to understand how you could possibly use someone else's registered domain name. If you want, type the domain name in plain text (eg. example dot com). That should stop it appearing in any search engines as a site link later on.

I'm just checking with the site owner if they have been able to fix it - it looks like they might have. In which case, great.

The site was www dot monkey puzzle islington dot co dot uk. Basically, when I landed on the page, I didn't see their info, I saw a Word Press login type page instructing me to type a name for the blog and my email address. I thought maybe it was a cookie of some sort, so just did it (no harm, I thought!) and then when I tried to see their page again, it had been 'replaced' by my inadvertant blank blog!

Even if their page is fixed now, I don't realy want/need a wordpress site - has it disappeared now?

The site looks fine now. I can only assume that the site's owner had uploaded WordPress but didn't install it immediately. It was just pure bad luck that you happened to come along at that time. No harm done though, by the looks of it. :-)
