When I did my last post. Do you want me to remove the orginal .htacess file that was there?

cool restored to the original problem ( i saved the files your linked guide asked me to overwrite )

Then i did as you asked, I removed two htacess files that were there (one was from ages ago i tried to redirect, the other was put there through my hosts control panel .

I will restore both now

hmm i think i ul the new index.php file into my directory /blog

Curtis I tried everything but it did not work. This screenshot shows the files ( the ones one the left are modified as per instructions, and I then uploaded them

Edit functions.php

If you have access to the site via FTP, then this method will help you quickly get a site back up and running, if you changed those values incorrectly.

1. FTP to the site, and get a copy of the active theme’s functions.php file. You’re going to edit it in a simple text editor (like notepad) and upload it back to the site.

2. Add these two lines to the file, immediately after the initial “<?php” line.

update_option(‘siteurl’,’http://example.com/blog&#8217;);
update_option(‘home’,’http://example.com/blog&#8217;);

Use your own URL instead of example.com, obviously.

Now if I change theme will it now work?

What is the best way, go back into general settings?>
