    hello there,
i have setup my WP multi-site such that members of my community can request for blogs on-demand. i just want to know the limit of the number of blogs that can run off my domain successfully, given the default multisite setup config.

    thanks for the time

thank you for that link, i will definitely install that plugin. but my question has not yet been answered.
i want to know the total number of blogs that can successfully run off my network, not the number of blogs allowed per user.
can i have up to, lets say, 10,000 blogs running on the network.
    thank you.

  3. Oh.. dude, brain fart.

Um. How many does wordpress.com have right now?

That many. The limit isn't WordPress, it'll be your server :)

Are you insinuating that wordpress.com is using the same core WP that we download here on wordpress.org, no (core) modifications besides plugins? Somehow I doubt it.

We use WP MU domain with over 50 sites. I can't imagine going through the network update of 73 million blog sites =)

  5. Oh there are core modifications, but not as many as you'd think.

And given infinite disk space, you can host 4,294,967,295 sites. More if you track blog numbers in bigint instead.

WordPress won't be your limit here, it's your server.
