Support » Plugin: WP2Cloud » Uploads to Amazon S3 without ClouSE?

  • Hey there!

I’ve been trying to install ClouSE, but it requires CentOS 6.x while my VPS has CentOS 5.x. Upgrading to 6.x can only be done on a clean install, which (for me) isn’t realistic at this point with 300+ sites/domains running on this VPS. In other words, I can’t install ClouSE at this point.

Is there any other way to upload the media files directly to Amazon S3?

    Thanks in advance,

    Wilco

    Hi Wilco,

WP2Cloud requires ClouSE to operate. In WordPress-to-Cloud solution, the site uses cloud storage as its primary storage, that stores and serves the data. This allows the website to take full advantage of cloud storage and become more reliable, scalable and available. I’m not aware of any other solution that would provide similar functionality end-to-end.

Depending on your requirements, you may find other plugins that provide parts of WP2Cloud’s functionality. For example, if you just want to use Amazon S3 as a cache to scale out access to your media files, you can use W3 Total Cache plugin.
