Uploads in a directory OUTSIDE wordpress? (1 post)

    Hi

    I need to set up my images and videos to be stored in a folder that's OUTSIDE the wordpress folder.

    So in my site, the images and WP folders are, respectively: 

    /home/site/www/uploads
/home/site/www/wp/..

    The default uploads folder of course was /home/site/www/wp/wp-content/uploads, but this does NOT work for me.

    I have CHMODed the uploads folder recursively to 777. And read the hell out of threads like this: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-is-its-parent-directory-writable-by-the-server-uploading-images

    I still get the error. What else?
