Uploads folder unwriteable?

    On my new blog site (http://solo-dad.com) I receive this error message whenever I attempt to upload a photo in a post or for a page.

    Unable to create directory /wp-content/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    I’ve checked and all directories are permissions are set at 755. I’ve never had this happen on other WP blogs.

    Any ideas?
