[resolved] Uploads Folder Issues - Not creating month folders (3 posts)

So, I just updgraded a clients wordpress (did not take the time to notice what version they were at before upgrading). After upgrading I get an error about not being able to create the end folder in uploads under the year that would be labeled by the month (ie. cannot create wp-content/uploads/2011/09). I set everything's permissions even to 777 and still nothing. I noticed that up until now everything they upload has been going straight into the year, with no month (ie. everything is just dumped into 2011 rather than creating an 09 folder).

Not sure where to go with this - Is it possible they were still running a very old version of wordpress that didn't use the month structure and that some change needs to be made to code to allow it to work properly?

    Any ideas?

Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

Thanks for the reply - it wasn't a permissions issue - it was actually an issue with the media settings - someone at some point had put a path in there that was not the appropriate path... Deleted it and everything works like a charm!
