   I want to upload a picture and then insert that picture (medium size) with a link to the large size so I can get a lightbox effect.

   But ... I want to be able to do this without using the WP editor, for example from my phone.

   Does anyone know how to do this?

   I've tried using the postie plugin but I can't it to work.
