uploading wordpress to 1and1 using Smartftp

    I am trying to upload an unzipped folder containing all the wordpress files to 1and1 using smartftp. It is the first time I have done this. It has uploaded the sub-folder WP-Admin but seems to get stuck on the next sub-folder called WP-content. It’s just hanging and keeps retrying until it times out. Any ideas?
