I’m brand new, when I try to upload (jpeg) pictures they only appear as an x (ie: not working).
    How can I upload pictures?
    Thanks

  • Are you uploading via FTP? If so, you may have to double check the Chmod permissions on your FTP client.

i am not hip enough to understand what you are saying.
    😉

Maybe I’m an idiot, lol, but I can’t seem to get my photos to upload. I’ve tried making them gifs, jpegs or tiffs, and all I get is “failed to load” when I click on add media. If I click on the add image icon and put the url in, nothing happens at all. Help!

I can’t upload pictures from the Dashboard, either. I can, of course, upload them via FTP however I don’t see my FTP uploaded images listed in the Dashboard, so that’s totally useless, and, besides, I would much rather be able to just click the little button and upload and add them from the website/Dashboard.

Also, I have WP 2.5.1, the latest version, and I get “HTTP error” in both Internet Explorer (7.0.6001. . .blah, blah, etc.) and in Safari (3.1.1). I guess I’ll download FireFox to see how that goes.

OK, tried the htaccess fix and it worked. 😛
