[resolved] Uploading Photo - popup window doesn't open!?! (5 posts)

Just installed wordpress on a hosted domain for a client. When you upload a photo, a popup window should open... but instead it "leaves" the page you're on, and what should be in the popup window is now your page. If you upload a photo, and click "insert into post", it goes blank, and ... nothing. You can hit "back" twice to get back to the post, but of course there is no photo in the post.

    1) it does put it in the media 'folder'
    2) you can insert it through html

Unfortunately, my client is not savvy enough to do this. I've written in the code for her first one today, but don't want to have to do this for her indefinitely. And, well, to be honest, it should just work! It works on mine fine, as well as my old blog... so I'm unsure what went wrong.

    Help please!! Much appreciated.

there are two options for uploading the photos, the flash uploader and the browser uploader, have you tried both? the flash one gave me problems once so i tried the browser uploader instead which worked fine.

I've tried both, and they do the same thing. :(

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    - re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    - increasing the memory available to PHP?
