i have two domains, one named ‘craftytrixx.com’ and an add-on domain named ‘dottietrixx.com’ added to my ‘craftytrixx.com’ domain.

i’ve managed to upload one blog into ‘craftytrixx.com’.

I’ve got a subdirectory called ‘wordpress’ in my ‘public_html’ directory.

how do i upload my other blog ‘dottietrixx’? I have a config. file for my dottietrixx blog to upload but I don’t know where to upload it. where should i put it?

all i’m trying to do is put my craftytrixx blog into crafytrixx.com, which i’ve managed to do.

then all i want to do is put my dottietrixx blog into dottietrixx.com, which I don’t know how to do.

dottietrixx.com is an add-on domain to craftytrixx.com. i own both domains.

i have separate databases for each blog.

i’ve tried to create a network

I’ve got to super admin status

but when I try to add another blog it won’t work

    this is what i’ve entered:

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v600/mscrafty/ScreenShot2013-08-14at050040.png

and after pressing ‘add site’, this comes up saying missing or invalid site address

    i don’t know what to do 🙁

Do not create a network – that’s WAY more complicated.

    For a sub-directory install, see:

    Go to the General panel.
In the box for WordPress address (URL): change the address to the new location of your main WordPress core files. Example: http://example.com/wordpress
In the box for Site address (URL): change the address to the root directory’s URL. Example: http://example.com

where would I find the ‘general panel’?

it says to go to the ‘general panel’ i have no idea what it’s talking about. where would i find it?

    (@craftytrixx)

    it could have just said:

    settings>general

it would’ve been a lot easier to locate.

it’s all changed cos i tried to do the multisite thing on it.

can someone just tell me how to add another blog using the multisite thing? i was doing better at that.

into my root directory which is called ‘public_html?’

or into my subdirectory called ‘wordpress’ within ‘public_html’?

    new blogs.

@alexandrefr95100 – per the forum welcome, please start your own thread – your question is unrelated to this one.

Ideally two separate WordPress installs should be in their own folders/directories and have their own MySQL tables. The server can then be configured to serve these folders up as completely different domains.

Based on what I’m gleaming from your previous postings I would suggest the following approach:

1). Create a folder in your webroot (public_html) for your first domain and install your WordPress within that folder.

    2) Create a second folder in your webroot (public_html) for your second domain, and install your second WordPress site in that folder.

    3) Configure your server (including domain names, etc.) to serve up both folders as separate sites.

Multisite WordPress is a whole different beast of which I have little familiarity.

there’s a big problem with my craftytrixx blog at the moment.

I’ve re-imported everything, the home page looks ok, but none of the links work. when you click on a link i get a ‘404 not found’ page.

when i go to the dashboard and check ‘all posts’ they all seem to be there. when i click to edit a post all the pictures are there for me to edit. i click ‘update post’ cos everything seems to look like it’s there and then i click ‘view post’ and i get taken to a ‘404 not found’ page. what am i doing wrong?

with the dottietrixx blog, i’ve been trying to get onto the page dottietrixx.com/wordpress/wp-install.php but the status in the address bar goes to about 20% and freezes, the page never loads. 🙁 what am i doing wrong?

i was talking about the links that links to other pages within my blog, none of them work. every click takes you to a ‘404 not found’ page.

Try this: go to your Permalink settings and make a choice and click save. This updates your .htaccess file and can often fix routing issues like this.
