   Hi,

   I'm trying to insert images into a WordPress site that I have running locally on my computer and it comes up with this message using both versions of the browser:

   Unable to create directory /Users/rusty/Sites/htdocs/mysite/wp-content/uploads/2008/12. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

   The online version seems to store the images in an Upload folder. My question is: do the image files need to be within the Local WordPress folder? Or is there some other reason that they won't load.

   it's a permissions issue. /wp-contents needs chmod 777 the 1st time you do this
