I am brand new to WordPress. I am using a free DreamHosters account while I learn how to use WordPress. I've found a theme at WordPress.org that I want to use and have also found some plugins that I'd like to add as well. There is something that I am doing wrong when I try to login to install the theme and plugins. The Hostname, Username, password, and choice of connection type( ftp or ftps) are the required pieces of information to log into the account. The most recent error message is "Failed to connect to FTP Server blog.smokymountainlight.dreamhosters.com/:21". Could someone give me the exact pieces of information for those 4 form requirements for logging in? Thanks.

If you can login to your wordpress account, then you can go to

    Appearance > Add New Themes
    Plugins > Add New

This I understand. But when I go to add new themes and then search for themes and find one that I like it requires that I enter these bits of data 1) Hostname Ok, what's the correct hostname? 2) Username I have to assume that my username is the one that is being asked for. 3) Password The password for my WordPress.org account, my DreamHosters account, or something else? 4) Connection type-ftp or ftps Which one should I choose? Once I get past this I am pretty sure I can figure out the rest.
