Uploading a logo from Logo Services Site or other site

    I have been asked to create/design a logo and ‘blog’ for a youth group here in Scotland. I have a few questions.

    1. Would there be any appropriate themes within wordpress for the logo, or would I be able to upload/import a logo myself from an external logo site. Could the logo be increased in size to fit properly within the ‘header’ of the new wordpress site?

    2. I have never created a blog before, so I am wondering, if I create a blog for the youth workers/friends etc, would they be able to get access directly into the blog just by typing the title of the blog, or would they require username and password.

    3. Can a Facebook button be added to the site?

    4. Can an e-mail address page be added to the site?

    If the above are possible, would it be better going to WordPress.com or WordPress.org?

    I think that since this is the first time that you’ve created a blog, I think that it would be better to start at WordPress.com.

    If you go with that solution, you won’t have to worry about the hosting, upgrading, security etc.

    Once you’ve set up your WordPress.com account, you can look at all the various themes and see which one would work for you.
    Most will allow you to upload your own logo in gif or jpg format.
    All of them will allow you to add a facebook button and email address.
    All visitors will be able to view the site without having the login.

    Thank you for the reply, however, I have worked with WordPress.org before, and it needs to be .org as I need to add plugins etc, and wordpress.com does not allow that, so could you please answer my original question:

    Pretty much all themes can be made to work with a custom logo. How they do it can change depending on how (or if) the theme author has implemented it.

    Some themes let you upload a logo file so if you find one that allows that it’s easy. If there’s nothing like that available in the theme that you choose then you can modify the themes files (I’d recommend doing that through a child theme…) to add in your own logo file.
