• Hi there,

I uploaded a 3rd party theme successfully. ( ‘fragment’ wp theme from themeforest)

then I went to log in through my sub domain demo.outlier.ie/wp-admin and no luck, nothing… just a blank white screen. what have I done wrong? how can I gain access again?

    Thanks

  • You’ll need to use FTP or Cpanel to deactivate or delete that theme folder – you can find it here:

    wp-content
        themes
fragment - RENAME OR DELETE THIS FOLDER

    Thanks.

I’m not very technical so I was wondering if you could explain the process a bit better.

what do you mean by ‘you can find it here:’

where would I find wp-content , themes, fragment.

If I de-activate it, can I go back to the older theme? will I be able to upload this theme directly to wordpress as a .zip again?

You need to use FTP or CPanel to access the files on the server – ask your hosting company for help with doing that – it’s not part of WP but allows you to access and modify files on a remote server.

If I de-activate it, can I go back to the older theme?

Deactivating should cause WP to automatically go back to the default WP theme (as long as you haven’t deleted it).
