The installation steps, as below, don't occur for me:

3.Edit the options in Settings > Custom Post Type Page Template
4.Check the custom post types which you would like to use page templates
5.Check the Enforcement Mode depending on themes
    6.That's it! :)

Nothing new appears in Settings I do get a CPT CT Manager beneath Settings. I can click on "Create Custom Post Type" and I get a screen asking for the name/slug and to select taxonomy. But when I put in my information and click the "create" button, I am just returned to the same blank screen. I have no idea where the new custom post type has gone, or if it was even accepted.

I just loaded this, and wondered the same.

I realised I needed to go to the side SETTINGS options and select "Custom Post Type Page Template", and it then gave me the option to tick "posts".

I did that, and then the options appeared on my post creation page.

I did a new post and selected one of the templates (that the theme already had, so I didn't need to create any).

However. It did not work !!!
It looked like it should but it didn't.

I am using the Graphene theme and WP 3.6.1

    LOL . . .

    Me neither!

Nothing happened. Page Template at the right-upper corder of post editing page still only has [Default Template] only, and there is no other new template section whatsoever.

So, we are "rare cases" that can't be helped?

    Old fashioned way . . . I guess
