Upload/content editor does not work properly (3 posts)

Fresh 2.9.2 install. Added a page, tried to edit it (to add some contents), but the insert image, movie etc does not work. I'm also missing all the link buttons etc. Neither does the Visual/Html switch work. I can add text, but I can not see it before it's marked (it's white). In addition, buttons like the "screen options" does not do anything. Otherwise everything seems to work. Very annoying. Tried, IE, Firefox (both linux and windows) and chrome on linux.

And no...I have no plugins...so the disable thing would not work (as indicated by other posts). Also tried setting the upload to wp-content/upload (default)...although would be strange if that was the issue.

Anyone have an idea? I'm running an older version elsewhere which works fine on the same browsers and php system. This runs on a different sql server (remote for now), but I doubt that should be the issue, or?

    Have you tried:

    - switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

    - re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    - increasing your available memory?

    Thanks.

Tried all three, even different combinations and it did not work. I only tried 64M, but as far as I know that should be more than sufficient.

    I'm lost...

Are there other ways of editing these files (except the database of course)? The browser thing is a bit inefficient anyway, so if anyone have some suggestions for development tools that support the WP platform (seamless) that would be great.
